Yirgacheffe Konga G1 (Ethiopia)
An exquisite example of naturally processed Ethiopian coffee. Sweet, fruity & delicately scented with a floral aroma.
The story...
Widely acknowledged as the birthplace of coffee, Ethiopia grows some of the most exceptional coffees in the world with the Yirgacheffe region leading the way in producing unrivalled flavour profiles. Yirgacheffe’s thickly forested highlands are full of life and agriculture. Farmers expertly grow ‘garden coffee’ and selectively hand-pick their coffee cherries, delivering them within the same day to the Konga Wote washing station.
At the station, Primrose Trading helps farmers organise the processing and export of their coffee, paying premium price for high quality coffee cherries and providing well paid, year-round jobs for many locals. Additionally, Primrose agricultural officers work closely with each farmer to ensure the viability and fertility of their farmland. This support is vital in combating the increased problems faced by farmers from climate change.
The decision to naturally process this coffee maximises and intensifies the familiar fruity and floral notes Yirgacheffe is famous for. This is a real show stopper of a coffee showcasing the best this coffee growing region has to offer.
